Who is Mr. Grow?

My resumé

My name is Jim Bishop. I'm a Landscape Designer (specializing in CAD; Computer Aided Design) for a local landscape construction company.  I am a graduate of Columbus State Community College with an associates in Landscape Horticulture/Design. In 1996 I became a Certified Nursery Technician *Landscape* in the state of Ohio. In 1998 I received my Certified Arborist accreditation from the International Society of Arborists.  My interests in plants started when I was a young child and the credit must go to my mother who is an avid gardener. Back then I loved to grow vegetables in the back yard even though I hated to eat them. I always enjoyed going to the local pond and bringing home bluegill to put in the vegetable garden. As a ten year old I was amazed at the amount of  yield these fish would give the plants. It was just something about the challenge and gratification of cultivating plants. I have since grown to love most veggie (I love stir-fry). In seventh grade my science project tested the effects of colored lights on the growth of the Coleus. Through high school my grades showed that botany and the sciences captured my attention much more than history or foreign language ever could.  Going into college I was advised that a business major would be very secure. BORING! That lasted about a year. I started at Columbus State a couple months later with dreams of becoming a landscape architect. After taking classes and talking with my professors I found out that I liked the creativity of drafting but the plants were my strong point. Since then I've found another outlet for my creativity with LANDCADD

Summer 1998 Project at Peabody Landscape:

A stone retaining wall and waterfall for Tartan Fields Golf Community. Well over
100 tons of limestone went to building this wall and waterfall. When we got to the site
all we had to work with was the lower pond.

After 3-4 weeks of laying stone
